In the Community
Accolade is proud to work closely with the local community in various ways. Periodically the team enjoy taking part in charity events and raising money for local causes. Staff and members have taken part in two separate 24 hour Spinning marathons raising money for AAIR – Asthma, Allergy & Inflammation Research, a charity based at Southampton General Hospital.
Participants took part in a gruelling sponsored 24 hour spinathon – speak to any of the team and they can tell you how challenging this event is especially in the early hours of the morning.
If you have any ideas for raising money for local charities or would like your group to be involved with us, please contact a member of the team at the club.
The local Itchen Rowing Club use Accolade as their base for training and we wish them well in all their forthcoming events.
Later this year the club launches the ‘Go Programme’ aimed exclusively at 15 and 16 year old girls. The programme lasts for six weeks and introduces the girls to health and fitness in a non intimidating environment. It aims to provide them with information and knowledge of how to incorporate fitness into daily lifestyle. All abilities are catered for and is great fun with a variety of activities provided from aerobics, circuit classes and Spinning to sessions on diet and nutrition and work/life balance. It is a great morale boost and team building experience and promises to be popular with many local schools.
